The Country of Origin trail run is a team of three event along a 30km route on Lantau Island, aimed at bringing teams from different nationalities together for a great day out on the trails.

Teams should have three members from the same nationality (same passports) of any gender combination - no age categories, but all male, female and mixed teams are welcome, with a preference for mixed teams.

Your team must start, run and finish together, and fancy dress in national costume and/or colours is highly encouraged!

WHy The bRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY?

Nic TINWORTH, one of our founders, grew up in Hong Kong and fell in love with it's plethora of trail systems while running with his high school cross country team. As a passionate trail and ultra runner, Nic was always been a vocal advocate for the sport and it's community. He founded the Country of Origin race in 2015 to bring a fun community and social based event to the race calendar.

Nic fought a valiant fight against brain cancer, and joined the trails in the sky in 2020. We miss him dearly and our events will always have a little bit of Nic in them.

one year later, steve’s uncle roger, also lost his battle from the exact same cancer.
