BIG BOAR’S BACKYARD CHALLENGE

1st Edition Winner:

Will Hayward (M) - 25 yards, 167.65km

2nd Edition Winner:

Chamelia Suhra (F) - 29 Yards, 194.474km

The concept is simple… At 2100 hours on Thursday 28 March, 2024, we will start a run (yard) on the 4.166667 mile (6.706 km) route.

The time limit will be one (1) hour.

At 2200 hours, we will begin another run (yard) on the same 4.166667 mile route. 

We will repeat the process, every hour, for as long as it takes, until there is only one (1) runner left who completes the 4.166667 mile route within the one (1) hour time limit.

Big Boar’s Backyard Challenge is expected to take place again on Bowen Road and will be confirmed soon.

Application:

There are a maximum of 40 spots available for this event. The Race Director will select runners according to various criteria in the spirit of the event ranging from (in no particular order of importance) running background, ability to endure, reason for applying, goals for the event, etc.


Once THE application is approved and THE fee is paid, no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers are allowed.

The entry fee for big boars backyard challenge 2024 is hk$1,500.


Runners will be informed of acceptance by email - up to one (1) month prior to the date of the event.

RULES:

RD is Swiss so No Late Starts Allowed.

Any runner not in the starting box at the beginning of the next run (yard) is not eligible to continue and will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).

Any runner who is unable to complete the 4.166667 mile (6.706km) route before the start of the next run (yard) is not eligible to continue and will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).

There can only be one (1) winner, and all other runners will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).

If no runner can complete a run (yard) at the end, there will be no (0) winner and all runners will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish).

Runners are responsible for their personal aid and nutrition. 

Runners are allowed no more than one (1) crew in the rest area at any time - if more - the runner will be automatically disqualified.

Once a runner enters the rest area, the runner cannot leave unless it’s to advance to the starting box.

Once a runner enters the starting box, the runner cannot return to the rest area.

Support on the course - static or running - is strictly prohibited, and any runner failing to comply will be disqualified.

Trekking poles, pogo sticks, piggyback rides, roller blades, skateboards, segways, hoverboards, scooters, bicycles, motorbikes, cars, buses or trucks, Nordic skis, horses or camels are strictly prohibited. Runners must complete a run solely using the power of their own legs with no assistance whatsoever. Any runner failing to comply will be disqualified.

Race amenities:

Rest area will be under cover.

Water will be available to runners at the rest area throughout the event.

Runners will be given space for one (1) chair (included) and one (1) cooler (not included).

An event t-shirt will be provided.
